MSUFCU’s Jamie Smathers to speak at FinAi Banking Summit

Jamie Smathers, vice president of fraud prevention at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, will speak on Tuesday, March 3, at the FinAi Banking Summit in Denver. 

The summit is set for March 2-3 and brings together executives, technologists and decision-makers across FinAi.

Smathers joined MSUFCU in 2015 as a financial services representative. She also was a loss prevention manager before assuming her current role in 2021.  

Smathers will speak on the panel “Gen AI in the ring: Fight against fraud” on Tuesday, March 3, at 1:15 p.m. local time. She joins these panelists: 

  • Erik Beguin, founder and CEO, Austin Capital Bank; 
  • Chris Friedman, partner, Husch Blackwell; and 
  • Nick Lachman, head of AI and data science, Valley Bank
