Matthew McCown is an Executive Director within J.P. Morgan Payments where he oversees a team of data scientists, technologists and UI/UX designers whose mission is to build intuitive data products that help small businesses grow. The team’s flagship product, Customer Insights, launched in 2021 and is currently live to more than 5 million small business owners. Customer Insights leverages payments data to help small business owners optimize their staffing, store location and digital advertising strategies, among other use cases. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2018, Matthew served on the trading and research team at a quantitative investment management firm. Matthew holds an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from New College of Florida.
